Sandoval names mental health committee members

Gov. Brian Sandoval, under pressure after a new Sacramento Bee story disclosed that patients dumped from Nevada’s Rawson-Neal hospital went on to commit crimes in other cities, has named the members of a committee he created to recommend improvements to Nevada’s mental health system.

Here’s the release, with the membership. For the most part, it looks like an impressive group that possesses relevant experience:

I am currently a provider in the Clark County/Las Vegas community of mental health services and a former Mental Health II licensed therapist of DCFS, I find it interesting that there are no members of this council who are current providers of mental health services. How will the communities’ best mental health interests be served without at least one person with current hands-on experience as a member of the council? I am pleased to see that Retired Judge Glass is a member of this council, as she does have a knowledge and sensitivity to the mental health issues of our communities.
