Berkley race makes the medium-time!

Rep. Shelley Berkley‘s race got featured on this weekend’s Up with Chris Hayes, which is a television program on MSNBC that airs on the weekends. If you don’t know Hayes, he’s a journalist for The Nation magazine who covers Washington and always makes some good points.

This weekend, he marveled at the fact that the Berkley race against U.S. Sen. Dean Heller was not about state-specific issues such as the nation-leading unemployment rate or the dire straits of the housing market, but about national issues such as Heller’s vote for the Paul Ryan budget that essentially would have privatized Medicare. Hayes even got a sit down with Berkley.

This is another example of the Teabaggers attempting to take over what’s left of the Republican Party. Now that Mitt Romney is quickly slipping in the polls – and the reason is mostly about taxes (his and his suggestions) – the Republicans see that Mitt Romney’s shadow is cast further down the ticket. Republican’s running for election and reelection are attempting to distance themselves from Romney. Signing a pledge to not fully represent their constituency may be their death knell.
