Obama responds on welfare work rules

President Barack Obama‘s campaign is firing back at Republican rival Mitt Romney‘s attack that the administration is ending work requirements in the welfare reform law. (I also penned a column about this subject today.)

First, here’s Romney’s ad, which major news organizations have found to be untrue, and which earned a “pants on fire” rating from the website PolitiFact:

And, in reply, the president’s response:

What is this strange silence we’re getting from the right? Why are they afraid to admit they were fooled by Romney’s ad? How can they trust anything the right tells them? Remember the, “President Obama said, ‘You didn’t build your business,’” ad? That, too, was a lie. When will the right begin asking themselves, “Why are the Republicans lying to me?”

Pity you didn’t mention the comments by Robert Rector who actually worked on writing the bill He said; ” the law already has a lot of flexibility built into it. Instead, the administration “took the law and threw it in the trash can.”

But then; why go an authoritative source?

  3. Robert Rector was the person who co-authored the Heritage Foundation blog that totally mischaracterized what the government is doing here! Authoritative source! Ha!

  4. I watched the speech where he did say you didnt build it, he showed real distaste for people having bragging rights for their success.

    whats happening to our country?

You want to know, “What’s happening in this country?” Right wing propaganda and lies in order for the Republicans to regain power. Senator Mitch McConnell said it himself. ‘Our job is not to help; or create jobs or pass the Jobs Bill; it’s to see that President Obama is not reelected.” And that’s what they’re doing. The PACs are dumping hundreds of millions of dollars into this campaign (those corporations seem to be doing well enough to donate all that money) with ads that are misleading and outright lies. You mentioned a few. President Obama did NOT say, “You didn’t build that business.” He said they didn’t build those roads and bridges. He didn’t change welfare so you can sit home and they’ll mail you a check. He complied with the wishes of two Republican Governors that wanted ways to help those on welfare. The Republicans have made it abundantly clear that they want the Ryan Bill. They want the rich to get tax cut and for the middle class to have tax increases. — The biggest danger to our country is an uninformed electorate. Become informed.

We all know both sides lie. Many often vote for the lesser of evils. The difference with Obama is he really is evil. Another program that he pitches for the public, but the next minute he has waivers for his friends. That in & of itself should tell you enough.
