Back in June, I reported in two items for the “In the News” feature of this blog that Jerry Stacy, press secretary for U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle, had called my 8NewsNow colleague Nathan Baca an “asshole idiot” while Baca was trying to interview Angle about her reference to “Second Amendment remedies.” (In the second item, I reported the Angle campaign denied Stacy had said any such thing.)
After the incident faded, I neglected to follow up on the confrontation. It turns out that it was not Stacy, but somebody else, who used the epithet. I regret the error.

That is what is wrong with ALL media today (yes, this includes You, the Review Journal AND Fox News)
You don’t have all your facts straight and just report half ass stories. Then we get this crap…Oh, I’m sorry – Here’s my “Correction”
Before pulling the trigger, maybe you should think about being a journalist and not pull a Dan Rather and “assume” you have the facts.
Well, I’m flattered at the comparison to Dan Rather, who is a great journalist, in my view. Thank you very much.
So long as news is gathered by people, and under constraints and deadline pressure, mistakes will be made. It can’t be avoided. You do what you can to minimize errors, but they will happen. When they do, you must stand up and take responsibility, which is exactly what I’ve done.
Stevarino,
How gallant of you to actually correct some flatulence from the Angle noise machine. And the greatest coup for turdblossom was when he fed Dan Rather TRUE information from a disreputable source.
Sheer BRILLIANCE!
